Take a look out there
On that city street corner
And tell me what you see.

See that tattered whore
Standing on the corner?
She shivers there,
In torn tights,
As the sleet splashes onto the curb.
She’s a slave to exhaustion,
Selling her soul
To stand on broken glass.
But do you notice
That alluring smile?

Take a look out there
On that city street corner
And tell me what you see.

See that stunning girl
Waiting across the way?
She stands there,
In expensive clothing,
As the sleet splashes onto the curb.
She’s a corporate workaholic,
Laboring six days a week
To save her reputation.
But do you notice
Those lonely eyes?

Take a look out there
On that city street corner
And tell me what you see.

Two women
Standing on the corner.
They both wait there,
In their characteristic regalia,
As the sleet splashes onto the curb.
A whore with next to nothing
Compared to a workaholic beauty queen
Seems an almost unfair comparison.
But do you notice
Which one of them is truly happy?

Go ahead and stand
On that city street corner
And tell me which one is you.

This idea's been wearing away at my mind. I'm glad it's out of my head and down on paper.

Well, it wasn't really written as a song, but I s'pose it could be. I'm glad you like it though :aww:

I loves it too :aww: The structure was what was driving me along, so I'm glad it comes out well.

beautiful as always, is the idea from the musical that you're in?
:iconchireiangel:
